Overview 

This position exists to support the branch and its Repair RHINOS as the Repair Apprentice grows in skills, knowledge, and abilities. As an RA, you will assist in various pool repair tasks - gaining hands-on experience and knowledge in demolishing, reconstructing, and replacing pool components and/or rebuilding the pool structure itself. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about beginning a career in the pool industry and would like to explore the career path towards becoming a launched and producing Repair Specialist with RED RHINO via successfully completing the apprenticeship and moving on to the role of Repair Specialist.  

Essential Functions 

  • Setting up job sites – carrying tools and supplies to pool area 

  • Cleaning up job site – reload the tools/supplies in van, clearing debris 

  • Digging holes and trenches 

  • Sawing and Jackhammer through pool decks, removing large pieces of cement 

  • Draining pools 

  • Using a grinder to cut through cement 

  • Learning to mix cementitious materials and apply them in repairs 

  • Assisting Branch Manager with inventory counts, receiving orders, loading and unloading trucks 

  • Supporting the Branch Manager in shop maintenance/upkeep/cleanliness/projects  

  • Having FUN – Not taking yourself too seriously 

  • Attending meetings on time 

  • Serving your fellow Rhino and lending a hand when needed  

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in diverse settings and adapting to different customer/job needs and requirements. Being available to pick up additional jobs at your branch or at another if the need arises. 

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and thorough in work execution and in communication with all parties. Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and precision.  

  • Safety Awareness: Deep understanding of the importance of safety protocols and procedures related to pool repair work. Committed to maintaining a safe working environment.  

Physical Requirements 

  • Regularly perform manual labor for extended periods of time in often adverse conditions.  

  • Occasionally exposed to underwater conditions, up to 12ft. below the surface for extended periods, testing and observing various pool components.  

  • Frequently remain in a stationary standing position for extended periods, occasionally on elevated or uneven surfaces such as pool decks.  

  • Regularly moving power tools, pool equipment, plumbing, etc. weighing up to 120 pounds, to and from vehicle to the jobsite to service customer’s pools.   

  • Constantly moving about indoor and outdoor settings, maneuvering around equipment, tight spaces, uneven surfaces, and up/down stairs at customers' homes.  

  • Frequently operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment following safety protocols.  

  • Exposure to, including but not limited to chemicals, cementitious materials, cementitious dust, flammables, tools, and powered machinery.
